DOGE, SHIB and BONK Watch: Why a Token's Last Price Is Not Its Liquidity
Weekend meme-token charts can mask thin order books and concentrated holdings, so quoted gains do not tell the whole risk story.
CoinDesk's market history for Dogecoin, Shiba Inu and BONK shows that speculative interest in the sector has shifted sharply at different points in 2026. CoinDesk Indices' October 9 reference page recorded a DOGE benchmark rate near eight US cents at its specified 4 p.m. New York snapshot. That observation should not be read as a live Saturday price, nor generalized to every venue.
Meme tokens may trade on multiple centralized and decentralized venues with different books, fee structures and available depth. The reported last trade is only the price of the last completed transaction. It does not reveal the volume that could be sold at a nearby price, or the slippage incurred by a large order.
Price changes become harder to interpret when concentrated wallets can move large positions or social-media promotion produces very short bursts of demand. Review exchange order depth, turnover, token supply, large-holder distribution and the reliability of the price source before comparing DOGE with far smaller PEPE- or BONK-style assets.
RecoupRev does not provide real-time trade recommendations. For a weekend market check, compare timestamped quotes from a reputable index and actual tradable venues rather than relying on screenshots or anonymous token-alert channels.
