PEPE Market Liquidity: What Traders Often Misread
A recognized meme token may have active markets, but trading activity does not create a fundamental earnings metric.
CoinGecko describes PEPE as part of an internet-culture-led token category. Unlike a business selling products, a meme token may not have profit, dividend payments or cash flows that can anchor conventional equity valuations. Market capitalization and volume describe market pricing, not an audited stream of income.
Liquidity has several dimensions: order-book depth, bid-ask spreads, slippage and whether there are reliable counterparties across venues. A token can look busy on aggregate charts but become difficult to sell when activity concentrates in a few large holders or liquidity pools.
Before interpreting a surge in PEPE volume, check which venues contributed, whether depth improved and if financing costs changed. Separate organic activity from potential wash trading and marketing campaigns. There is no evidence-based basis for treating a social-media price target as a guaranteed outcome.
