Bitcoin ETFs Record Roughly $729 Million in Two-Day Withdrawals
US spot Bitcoin funds suffered two consecutive days of net outflows through Thursday amid volatile crypto trading.
CoinDesk reported on October 9 that US spot Bitcoin ETFs had seen approximately $244 million in Thursday net redemptions, following around $485 million on Wednesday. The combined sum of roughly $729 million described those reporting periods, not a continuous weekend flow estimate.
ETF subscriptions and redemptions can affect demand for the underlying asset, but futures hedging, overseas exchanges and liquidity conditions also influence prices. A withdrawal does not reveal each investor's motive and cannot alone establish the precise reason for a broader market decline.
The reported flows arrived alongside an oil- and rates-driven bout of risk aversion. Investors comparing Bitcoin with stocks or gold should align data by time and distinguish the underlying market's 24-hour trading from funds that transact on US exchange schedules.
Watch multi-session flow direction, fund assets, derivatives funding and exchange liquidity before interpreting the move as a lasting trend. Friday and subsequent sessions can change the picture materially.
