The week of October 26–30, 2026 brings several scheduled events relevant to dollar, euro, yen, gold and equity markets. The Federal Reserve's next two-day policy meeting runs October 27–28, ending with a scheduled statement at 2:00 p.m. US Eastern time on Wednesday, October 28, followed by a 2:30 p.m. press conference. All outcomes remain unknown as of the October 25 editorial cutoff.

Wednesday, October 28: Federal Reserve policy

The Federal Reserve's official October calendar identifies the meeting and press conference. Traders often focus not only on the announced rate, but on the statement's description of inflation, labor conditions and risks. Market pricing can shift even when the policy rate is left unchanged if officials communicate a different expected path.

The effects on EUR/USD, USD/JPY and bullion are conditional. A more restrictive message could raise US yields and support the dollar, all else equal; growth concerns, hedging flows or changing expectations abroad can reverse the simple textbook reaction. Avoid presenting a rate-decision scenario as a price forecast.

Thursday, October 29: US GDP and PCE

The US Bureau of Economic Analysis schedules its advance estimate of third-quarter gross domestic product at 8:30 a.m. Eastern on October 29, alongside September personal income and outlays. The income-and-outlays release includes personal consumption expenditures price data, widely followed as a measure of US inflation.

The GDP release is an initial estimate subject to revisions. The PCE price indexes may differ from the CPI because they have different composition, weighting and coverage. A single report should be interpreted alongside labor-market indicators, prior trends and later revisions.

Thursday, October 29: ECB meeting

The European Central Bank's published calendar lists a two-day monetary-policy meeting on October 28–29 followed by a press conference on Thursday. Relative US and euro-area rate expectations may affect EUR/USD, but European growth, energy imports and political risk can influence the currency independently.

What this means for gold, crypto and stock markets

For gold, distinguish nominal interest-rate moves from changes in inflation expectations and real yields. Bitcoin trades continuously, so weekend and overnight moves may reflect liquidity and leverage rather than a fresh official announcement. Equity benchmarks can react differently depending on their sector weightings and earnings exposure.

Unexpectedly elevated oil prices add another variable: inflation can stay sticky even as fuel costs weaken consumer demand. This combination can complicate the choices central banks face.

How to use this calendar responsibly

Record the local time zone, official issuer, release status and data vintage. US Eastern is on daylight time through the October 28–29 events, while London and parts of Europe switch clocks on October 25. Check official pages again for scheduling revisions. Do not confuse forecasts with published results.

This is a forward-looking events guide written October 25. No policy decision or future economic result is represented as already known. It is educational research, not a trading signal.
